What types of therapy are used in our virtual programs?

PSYCHOEDUCATION ON MENTAL HEALTH
Develop a thorough understanding of the nature of mental health disorders and the recovery process, as well as the related biology and psychology.


COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY (CBT)
Identify connections between thoughts, feelings, and actions to increase awareness of how these things impact recovery.


DIALECTIC BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY (DBT)
Develop skills such as mindfulness, distress tolerance, and emotional regulation, to help adjust behaviour and surroundings to aid recovery.


RELAPSE PREVENTION TECHNIQUES
Limit relapses in recovery by learning how to anticipate triggering scenarios and developing skills to cope with these difficult situations.


GROUP THERAPY
Provides a safe space to talk through experienced difficulties and develop strategies for overcoming them.


INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
Personalized and private one-on-one support from a licensed professional to establish goals, coping mechanisms and more.


DAILY LIVING SUPPORT
Discuss, monitor, and manage the basic mental and physical self-care tasks you do every day to help form a platform on which you can build your recovery.


RECOVERY PLANS
Develop a custom recovery plan with an experienced counsellor to address your specific challenges and goals.


HOMEWORK AND EXERCISES
Skill-based homework to complete between sessions, complemented by tasks/features in the app to use in parallel with clinical materials.


MEDICAL SUPPORT
Our highly experienced Nurse Practitioner will support you in trying or adjusting any mental health specific medications that could increase your chances of recovery. Currently available in Saskatchewan. Coming to other provinces this year.


AFTERCARE
Maintain accountability and supportive relationships by continuing with two hours of group therapy per week following your program completion.

  • Are virtual treatments really effective?

    EHN Online’s Virtual Intensive Outpatient Programs are proven to produce effective results, including:

    • Reduction in symptoms of anxiety
    • Reduction in depression symptoms such as emotions, thinking patterns and behaviour
    • Improvement in relationships and work life
  • How does EHN Online measure their success in treating mental health?

    At multiple points throughout treatment, clients complete validated self-assessment tools to measure their personal journey in recovery.

    Assessments include:

    • Outcome Questionnaire (OQ-45.2) a set of questions that helps clients understand how they are feeling and how therapy is helping them by asking about feelings of sadness, relationships, and work life.
    • Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) is a set of questions that helps people understand how they are feeling and whether they might be experiencing depression. It asks about things like feeling sad or hopeless, losing interest in things you used to enjoy, and having trouble sleeping or concentrating.
    • The Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7-item (GAD-7) is a set of questions that helps people understand how they are feeling and whether they might be experiencing anxiety. It asks about things like feeling nervous or worried, having trouble relaxing, and feeling afraid without an identified reason.
  • Are virtual treatments available to anyone across Canada?

    Yes, anyone age 18 and over is able to enroll in a virtual treatment without a referral. (We also offer our Healthy Minds Comprehensive Teen Program for youths ages 14 to 17.)

  • How much do virtual treatments cost?

    Our virtual treatments average out to be less than $50/hour.

  • Are your programs covered by my insurance?
